I just passed fifteen people on Henry Street offering free hugs. Saw a lot of incredulous faces. Public displays of affection with randomers waving placards while sober? Tough call.

Weird that you saw 15 people, I wonder did they know each other?
Never heard of the free hugs or been offered one.
I reckon they all met on the Internet. I wouldn't take a hug off a stranger, but perhaps that's all fool me.
I can reveal all: it's an internet ad for AIDS awareness. Everything was being filmed by hidden camera. I was offered the job (of the hugger-in-chief) by) three months ago by the casting director for the Paris version - the money was great for two days work but it would have meant pulling a sickie from my day job, which was not advisable as the shoot was taking place at a number of prominent locations, including two very close to my workplace. I still managed to stray across the shoot however. Hope you smiled. You'll be on the internet, and apparently in the cinemas too if it's an online success. :)
Seanachie, thanks for the revelation! I smiled the whole time, being a YouTube addict and a candid camera phobic. Sounds like an honourable advertisement, best of luck to them.
Must look out for the ad then.
