Writer's (good) cramp

Wonders will never cease. I sat down this morning and knocked out 2000 words in two hours. It helped that I was writing dialogue mainly, but still. How does it happen that I have days where I struggle to write a word, and then others where it flows so freely that my hands can't keep up? My right arm unsurprisingly aches...but I'm not complaining.

Taking a break now to do some research and to look up some books about editing and manuscript presentation - if you have a book or a website that's helped you, or any advice that you'd like to pass on, please let me know!

yay! I'm so happy for you! I thought of you and your writing-road-blocks the other night when PoetBlogs and I went to Grand Central. We decided that someday we three should meet up for a drink. :) We can celebrate your being published. :)

glad things are better.

I'm in the midst of editing a manuscript myself. No advice except to caution that is ALWAYS takes longer than expected. ALWAYS.

And, I hope you don't mind but I am tagging you for this 8 things meme going around - if you haven't already been through it before.

Macoosh, that's a great idea, especially as Grand Central is my local! Let me know the next time you're having a meetup...

Thanks Beccy, fingers crossed it will stay that way for a while.

Anna, thanks for the advice, I'm a complete newcomer to writing. I've taken part in the meme, thank you so much for tagging me!

A. Writer, thank YOU for your post - the same thing happened to me this weekend and their comments really got to me. I was lucky enough to talk to some friends who knew the guy was full of it. We writers have to stick together...and not make each other feel bad!

Well done!
In a college writing class I picked up the book Self-Editing for Fiction Writers by Browne & King, and though I haven't read through all of it, I have flipped through it and it seems to be very helpful.
