Thank you

Thank you very, very much for your responses to my rewriting queries and subsequent wobble. You've all been incredibly supportive and helpful, and for that I am very grateful.

I'm now over my fit of insecurity and am looking forward to the next stage. There is no way that worrying about it will help - I just have to have faith that I can produce something of which I am proud.

But until then I will focus on my course and take full advantage of my writing break!

Don't worry it is the dreaded anti climax of finishing a big project - enjoy sunshine and start fresh

If you want insecurity-counselling, let me know; I'll 'big you up'.

Glad to see you feeling so positive.

The insecurity seems to come and go like waves on a beach - it's so hard to be confident in what we write.

I read an article by Jane Green who said that her publishers told her that if a writer thinks they're really the best thing ever, their work is almost sure to be awful.

Take heart! Insecurity is what we need (apparently)

Thanks all! Jen, I was thinking about the same thing today - that if I didn't worry and care about my novel, it wouldn't be good.

Glad to see you're feeling upbeat again! A writer recently gave me the same advice that Jen mentions: if you're not being critical of your own work, you're probably writing crap.

Angie, like you said in the previous post comment - the FEAR is much worse than the editing itself - I was hoping that was the case so it's great to hear it confirmed!
