WPM

I've finally reached the end of my typing module, I can now type at 70 words per minute which is grand - usually employers are happy with 60 wpm or over - and I'm taking the test this morning. I'm surprised at how nerve-wracking I find these typing tests. The other modules require logical thinking, but with typing the less I concentrate the faster and more accurate I am. I've often looked up at my screen after drifting off into a daydream to find a near perfectly typed series of paragraphs. But when I start thinking about errors and my speed - it's a bloodbath!

So I've made a list of things to drift off about - one being the trip we're planning to Las Vegas for our anniversary in February - and who knows, this could be the most relaxing test I've ever taken...

That's really good, dreaming of Las Vegas sounds like a great distraction.

you're absolutely right--typing has to be almost unconscious. when you start thinking about your fingers, you lose the groove.
