Drained

Got the mini-series and first season of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica from Paddington - I blatantly stole from his huge DVD collection on Sunday. I've never watched it before but I'm already hooked! The writing and characters are compelling and, most importantly, it's not cheap n' cheesy like other sci-fi shows (including, may I say it, Doctor Who at times...)

This week also marks the end of a crazy month of birthdays and other nights out. The Ours and I have decided to impose a pub-ban for the next few weeks to avoid:
a) getting as big as a house and
b) having to go back to work early due to a completely drained bank account.

You're going to love it. Watched the pilot for the first time less than two months ago and now I'm completely up to date. I'm addicted to it.

I love it! Giaus is my favourite character ever. Have you worked out where you have seen him before yet? It took me ages.

It is the season finale here in two weeks, can't wait.

Darren, I'm three episodes away from finishing the first series already, that's how addicted I am.

M&T, I agree, Gaius is absolutely brilliant. I looked the actor up cos it was driving me crazy - Bridget Jones Diary!

My mum and brother are big fans of Battlestar Galactica, but I've never seen it. Might have to borrow it from library. As if I don't watch enough telly as it is :o)

I've never seen BG either, sounds good though. I may give it a go the next time I am at the DVD rental shop.

Karen and Hullaballoo, I really recommend it - not just for sci-fi fans, it's got something for everyone.

I love Battlestar Galactica! I got into it when I was off work and zoomed through the box sets. Brilliantly reimagined. And, ooh, the twists and turns it takes...

Also like the fact that they said at the outset they'd only do four series, rather than letting it run on until it ran out of steam. You know the narrative arc is going somewhere (although it got a little silly in season 3, things seem to be back on track).

But my hubbie can't get over the fact that Starbuck is a girl. However, he's still watching the current series with me!
