Horsey Prescriptions

My stomach is no longer beating me up, thanks to the prescription my doctor gave me. When he first mentioned 'Buscopan' the name was so familiar that I spent many an hour searching my addled memory for the answer. Finally it came to me. Vets give Buscopan to horses suffering from colic. You can thank my misspent youth reading Jilly Cooper for that trivia gem.

So I'm back to the editing grindstone today. I managed ten pages before my hand gave up the ghost - story number four is one of my favourites and parts of the first draft isn't in bad shape, so the notes are coming too fast for my squashed fingers. A great complaint to have!

The Ours is taking Friday off to make it a four day weekend. We're both determined to keep our weekends as quiet and unassuming as possible for as long as we can bear it. There's talk of a trip to Howth again, having lunch at Aqua and a leisurely stroll around the place, but the weather forecast is looking a little dismal. So another weekend spent lazing around could be on the cards; not that I'm complaining!

Glad to hear you're feeling better! The Maritime Festival looks like it could be interesting, in case you don't have the energy to schlep out to Howth ;)

Ooh, horse medicine or not, I'm glad you're on the mend.

Caroline I didn't know about the festival but it looks like the perfect lazy solution! Thanks!

So glad to hear that you're feeling much better even if you have to take horse medicine.

Hope you have a relaxing bank holiday weekend.

Good old Jilly Cooper! Glad you're feeling better now. Pity the weather's so rubbish... Hope you have a relaxing weekend anyway :o)

Debs, the horse medicine did the trick. I don't want to look at it further than that...

Karen, Jilly knows her stuff!

Glad you're feeling better. That sounds like a strong dose of medicine though!

Keep meaning to go to Howth on a daytrip one weekend... Will keep your recommendations in mind!

Horse med? Maybe that is the way forward for me too. My stomach doesn't beat me up, it hates me. If I have to survive any longer on bananas and soy yoghurt, I'm going to scream... Now, where can I find a reliable vet?

Jen, I wasn't prescribed the full whammy as I don't have four stomachs! ;)

Ariel, sorry for your stomach problems...mine is often not right either, and it's mainly always because of stress. Stopping smoking and taking up yoga helped a little.

Hope you got out to Howth. I'll miss such places when I'm gone to Scotterland. I have a very fond photo of Hullaballoo on a bridge over the canal at Hebden Bridge on my office desk, and I've very much enjoyed living in Otley and lower Wharfedale.
