Dublin Events in June

Miracle of miracles, the weather is still stunning in Dublin. In fact the weekend was so pleasant that I thought I was on a city break, hit the tourist office and did some June-time event digging. Here's what I found:

Bloomsday is the 16th June and the James Joyce Centre has organised readings, walking tours, a very cultural fry-up and other tributes to Joyce's Ulysses for the week starting 9th June.

The Dublin Writer's Festival is hosting a myriad of readings, discussions and events to suit all tastes from 11th to 15th June.

The AIB Street Performance World Championships is taking place on Merrion Square from 13th to 15th June.

The Darklight Festival is hosting an eclectic series of screenings, seminars and workshops to celebrate cutting-edge film, animation, art and technology from 26th to 29th June.

How dare you be having stunning weather in Dublin when it's peeing down and cold over here?? I'm definitely not in a festival mood now. So there.

Oh to live in Dublin. Not only to be surrounded by 'that' accent' but to have all that going on too. And you've got good weather and a nice teapot!
Am off to sulk:-)

Karen and Lane, I think I spoke too soon! Apparently the weather is due to go to hell tomorrow. Raging.

Lucky you it was horrible in Bournemouth, Cambridge and London today!
Darklight sounds great.

Am hoping the rain now means there'll be none for all those events later this month! Very much looking forward to Darklight, I've not been before.

Alix, it's nasty weather here now.

Caroline, I've never been to Darklight either, it sounds brilliant.

I love the sound of Dublin, there seems to be so much to do and see.

A bit late to comment...but that sounds fantastic. I've always wanted to return to Dublin for Bloomsday, it sounds so fun. If you go, I'd love to read a post about it.
Hope the sun returns!

Angie, I'll definitely do one of the walking tours - the James Joyce centre is on the same road as our apartment, so they'll have to kick me out at closing time!
