Treats

Had a good day today - edited ten pages, cleaned the flat of all DIY/painting residue and did some Wii Fit yoga.

After all that hard work I decided to treat myself. Unfortunately I've had to go on a diet due to developing a habit of rewarding myself with chocolate and/or booze for the simplest of tasks. (Like scoffing a kitkat for getting out of bed before midday, as it's a tad early for a slug of vodka really.)

Luckily I stumbled across the Adam and Joe podcasts from their laugh out loud BBC Radio 6 show. It's on a Saturday morning but I always forget about it and mindlessly watch Saturday Kitchen instead, so the podcast suits me down to the ground. If you haven't heard of Adam and Joe, they do hilarious and clever songs, skits and random natter.

They also did some XFM podcasts, which I'm off to download onto my iPod. That's the beauty of living in a city; when I walk down the street sporting my writer-rags and my uncombed hair while sniggering to myself, no-one bats an eyelid.

I love podcasts. Back in 2006 when I was pounding the treadmill in the gym I'd listen to the Ricky Gervais ones. Must check out the Adam and Joe ones. Cheers!

I live in a village and still walk around in my writerly rags with unkept hair, muttering and giggling to myself. But that may be due to the Vodka rewards!! Maybe I'll just stick to the chocolate treats until....say....what is the acceptable time to start on the Vodka??? Just kidding! Except about the unkept appearance and talking to myself in public - I do that - let the villagers gossip and pity my children. See if I care. I'm happy in my own little world LOL Kat :-)

Calistro I was addicted to the Ricky Gervais ones myself, am really looking forward to catching all the A&J ones.

KatW, I reckon one minute past midday is acceptable. That's the attitude I like to hear - you show those neighbours how to have a good time!

Unfortunately the sweet treats are more affordable on the writerly salary...and oh so good!
I really want to try the Wii Fit, especially the Yoga one.
Need to update my iPod so I can join the mad writers walking about. ;)

A new audio addiction :-) Did you ever watch the Adam & Joe show on Channel Four? That was brilliant - especially the story lines with the toys. I'm off to download those podcasts...

Angie, what I love the most about the podcasts - they are free! (I'm so tight.) I love the Wii Fit, it's very motivating.

Jen, I loved their tv show, the ER/Casualty ones were the best by far, utter carnage!

I LOVE Adam and Joe I've nearly fallen off the treadmill laughing at them "text the nation!"
Have you listened to Mark Kemode and Simon Mayo's film review podcast? It is fantastic, especially when Mark hates a film.
Books on the nightstand is good too.

M&T I haven't listened to that one, must add that to the list, cheers!

You are good, the only one that's been near the Wii Fit for weeks is S.

I think I'll have to look into downloading some podcasts, the sound brilliant fun.

Lane, they are very entertaining.

Debs, I hadn't been on the Wii for ages, am very sore this morning!

What's the Wii Fit Yoga like? I've been thinking of treating myself!

Karen, I love the Wii Fit because it's got me doing yoga again! The balance board stops you from cheating and really improves the poses. Much better than a yoga DVD I think.

There's an award for you over at mine.

Debs, thank you so much for the award! I really appreciate it.
