Inspiration

I am paper-editing up a storm while the Olympics coverage chatters away in the background. Perhaps not the best way to get my work done, but it's a necessary evil, otherwise I'd be slacking off constantly to watch it.

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy the Games, watching athletes at their peak after years of hard work and sacrifice is very inspiring. Alright I'm sitting on the sofa with a laptop instead of running / swimming / cycling for eight hours a day, but work with me people!

Only three weeks until our trip to Barcelona, I was originally hoping to have the eighth story finished by then but it's looking increasingly likely that I'll only have the seventh done. If that's the case I'll still be happy with my progress, as I know I've done my best.

Oooh, wonderful, what are you planning to do in Barcelona?

I don't ususally take much interested, but if I come across it on somewhere, I am instantly hooked and it is a change for pubs to show this instead of the obligitory football!

I am an Olympian submitter.... (someone who submits to agents daily when the Olympics are on!)
Cant quite get into them at the mo as am obviously otherwise engaged. The MOST tedious of tedious jobs!

I'm not that interested in the olympics, but I am finding it quite soothing to have on in the beckground as I write/blog/potter. The Welshman is interested though, so I'm supposed to text him if anything exciting happens. I'm not doing very well though, because I can't work out what counts as exciting!

Find myself watching it just before I leave for work. The watersports are usually on and that's just fascinating to me, because I'm a crap swimmer.

Kieran over at Icecream Ireland went to Barca recently - did a great couple of posts about it. Made me drool!

JJ, we're there for nine days so we'll hopefully be doing some sunbathing along with some sightseeing!

Holler, it's a nice change isn't it? It's not too distracting either.

Fionnuala, I have that all ahead of me...hope your subbing goes smoothly.

Helen, I can't tell either! It's great as a bit of background noise I think.

Jen, I love the swimming and diving too. Must check out Kieran's blog, haven't done any research into Barcelona yet, so not like me!

I know what you mean. I'm not a bit fan of sport the rest of the year but there's something about athletics and swimming that has me glued to the screen and it's not just the male athelete's physiques...much ;o)

Not a BIG fan of sport the rest of the year - is what I meant to type!

Well done on the paper-editing! I'm enjoying the Olympics too. It's one sport I will watch.

Calistro, the amazing physiques are a definite plus!

Annie, cheers.

Man, I haven't seen a single bit of the Olympics, not even the opening ceremony on the news.

I am an Olympian slacker.

My gruesome twosome are just back from 2 weeks in Barcelona; they had an amazing time and they're teenagers (i.e. mostly grouchy). I am so envious!

Goodie, the Olympics! I completely forgot about them... seriously - I'm always on the move so manage to live in a newsless world. Weird. Good luck on the editing and thanks again for your Dublin tips. I was there three times over the last 4 months but never often enough. Next time, we must have a cuppa!

Jen, your groucy teenagers enjoyed Barcelona? There's hope for me yet!

Ariel, wow I'd love to know what you do for a living that has you travel so much. Definitely next time!

I find the Olympics so inspiring too...it always makes me want to start swimming/cycling/gymnastic-ing, but somehow it never quite works out. ;) The physiques are a definite plus!

Barcelona sounds fab, and I can't wait to read your 'review' of it. Spain is definitely on the list of places I want to go.

Seven sounds very good to me. I'm hopeless with short stories.

I would love to go to Barcelona, I've never been and really should make the effort to go.

Angie, I've never been to Barcelona before but my fella has been, I can't wait. Will definitely bore everyone stupid about it when I get home!

Debs, I'm hoping to do a traditional novel soon but it scares me!
