I shouted: "Fuck!" as my alarm clock winked 10:00.
The Ours reminded me that it was Saturday. I folded back into bed as the three day hangover hit.
On Wednesday my parents sent me flowers and champagne at work, an early birthday present. At home I arranged the flowers and drained the champagne bottle.
On Thursday The Ours took me to The Cellar restaurant for my birthday. With the delicious dinner came wine...
Last night was at my work Christmas party. I'll just stop there.
I don't think I'm going to finish my novel by the end of the year. I'm a little disappointed, but I had forgotten that December is such a crazy month. I'm happy with the amount of writing I'm doing when I get to it though, usually 800-1000 words a night, but that's not every night. When I was at home all I could think about was writing. Now there are so many things competing for my attention.
I'm writing this as I watch Saturday Kitchen from my bed. The Ours made me a breakfast roll and I'm sipping Barry's tea. It's the first day in ages where I haven't felt like I have a million things to do. I still have them in mind but I don't care. It was a topic of discussion last night; how we all feel guilty for spending a day doing nothing, even though sometimes it's necessary after a long week of work, Christmas shopping and the million other things on the never-ending to do list.
Therefore I wish all of you a day of relaxation and rest. Even if you're frantic, stop for five minutes and have a cup of tea/coffee/wine on me. You deserve it.

I'm sipping tea as we speak. Wish it was Barry's though:-)
Sounds like you had a hectic but very lovely week. I hope the hangover passes soon and enjoy your relaxing day:-)
Yes, December is a crazy month a fun one though.
I hope you have a nice relaxing day, I love Barry's tea, my very own brand :)
That's a fantastic idea - don't mind if I do!
I've had a very lazy day today. I'm glad you approve. I think you've done wonderfully writing 800-1000 words a night when you're working too! I am most impressed.
I decided to have a lazy, blog-mooching five minutes and was delighted to see a post from you.
A day doing nothing sounds perfect. Am smiling for you and sending belated birthday jollity.

Thank you, I shall have a day doing nothing tomorrow.
Mind you after todays running from shop to shop (well, driving!), writing Christmas cards, etc, I'm more than happy to do bugger all tomorrow.
I always forget how chaotic December is.
Belated Birthday Greetings, Yvonne *raising a cup of maple and pecan coffee to you*
You've done so well on the novel; it's hard to get the words down in December with all that goes on in the real world.
Hope you're having a great day!
What's Barry's tea?
I'll make sure I have some relaxation this week - just for you of course - that way I won't feel guilty! December is just crazy isn't it? Are we half way there yet????
It's officially impossible to do non-Christmassy things in December...having a birthday is quite enough :o)) Hope the hangover's worn off now!
That's a good reminder (and thanks for permission, perhaps after the New Year I'll get to it... ;)
Happy belated birthday!
Even though it's hectic, it's great that you're squeezing in so many words when you get a chance to sit down. Hope the hangover passes soon.
xx
You must surely be ober the hangover by now :-) Or perhaps you're working on a new one hehe
Happy Belated, Yvonne. Squash that guilt! If I didn't take an occasional day like that I'd combust, I'm sure.
