Pain and gaming

Yesterday I got my grubby hands on a classic controller for the Wii, so now I can download and play such classics as Super Mario World, which I used to play religiously during my babysitting days (donkey's years ago obviously, but I still remember it well.) I'm playing it at the moment as I'm a little bit addicted, but also because I'm getting a Brazilian wax this afternoon before my holiday. You know, to my mind off the inevitable pain and embarrassment of having my legs in the air while someone methodically tears all the hair away from my very sensitive private parts.

I'm a little scared to be honest. Could I have gone with a bog standard wax instead? Am I a masochist? Do I really believe that I could wear a bikini on the beaches in Chicago, where the wind blows right through you for a short cut?

Well I've booked it now, and my voucher for the waxing place is running out soon, so it's show time. Denial is a wonderful thing.

when do you leave? it's been chilly in chicago. i doubt you'll need that wax after all.... chicago gets our weather, and this week it's going to be chilly, rainy and windy. you'll feel like you never left ireland.

Laurie, we are leaving tomorrow - I'm mainly doing the wax because I have a voucher that's going to run out soon. I would have loved to lie on a city beach for a while but I knew it was just an unrealistic dream! ;)

Oi, good luck! Maybe a G&T would take the edge off...
Have fun in Chicago, even if it is too cold for the beach.
