Retraining

I finally have a start date for my legal secretarial training course - Tuesday, 8th of August, so I have plenty of time to finish my first draft and get it ready for editing. The hours are flexible, but I've opted for as many hours as possible as I'm keen to finish quickly and start looking for work.

When I gave up my job in e-learning six months ago to write, I decided to retrain in something that would offer me the most flexibility for the best pay, and legal secretaries seemed like the best bet. I'll be primarily looking for a part time job, but if there is none available, I'd like to temp - work for a fortnight or month for example, then take the same time off to write.

So now that I have a deadline, I'd better get cracking!

*Managed 600 words today - well short of my normal target, but I am actually really happy with what I wrote. When I began to lose concentration I stopped and went back to planning the rest of the story. I'm hoping this will improve my quality and focus from now on.

The course sounds as if it will help you combine work and writing...good luck.

Spent time in the legal profession myself - best of luck. I admire your perseverance with the writing.
