Torrential

It is torrential out there.

I just waded through several inches of filthy smelly rain water, most of which was flowing freely over the pavement drains, seemingly unaffected by the laws of physics.

I wish that I had something profound or amusing to pass on, but unfortunately my January funk, like the pond tsunami the 38 bus created right in my path, still clings to me.

(May tomorrow be a better day.)

oh dear. Hope you have a better day tomorrow. I must admit to being in a bit of a January funk too. At least it is sunny here.

I third the January funk! I once read that the worst day of the year was somewhere in the middle of January: post-holiday back-to-work funk, cold weather, and little daylight do not combine to make people happy. (Just google 'worst day of the year' and you'll see what I mean!)
I sympathize with the torrential weather and hope yours clears soon!

Hope it gets better tomorrow. There's definitely something about this time of year - haven't seen sunshine for a while, won't see sunshine for quite a while yet...

No rain in Maynooth, just ice - which meant I measured my length along the pavement this morning. Fun.

Alix, I'd love some sun, but I don't think that anyone is immune to the January funk!

Angie, I read that too, Jan is the pits.

Jen, I feel your pain. Stephen's Green was like a skating rink this morning. Come on weekend!!!

I haven't been out of the house all day and feel crap because of it. My game of tennis was cancelled due to the weather so I did loads of cleaning then felt I'd earned a few hours curled up in bed with a book. What better way to spend a rainy day.

Let's hope the weather improves tomorrow.

Beccy, i honestly don't know a better way to spend a day like this one has been. I'm so glad to be dry and warm at home!

All sounds funking awful. Oh dear, couldn't resist that, terribly sorry.

Good excuse to lie in a hot bath for yonks though. It'll be Spring before we know it. Probably.

It really is awful out. We've got an inner city river outside right now!
