Valentine's Menu

Happy Valentine's Day y'all!

The Ours and I usually eat in for Valentine's, I pretend it's because our anniversary is in ten day's time (eight years!) but it's really because I want to scoff The Ours' excellent cooking.

Tonight he is making:

Main Course
Pan fried sea bass with chanterelle mushroom risotto

Dessert
Dark chocolate fondant

Am I not the luckiest girl in the world?! (Crow crow)

Have a lovely day whatever you have planned.

Oh that sounds delicious! You lucky thing. We are going to Bobo's to stuff our faces. Can't wait.

I've heard great things about Bobo's but can you believe that I've never been there? Will have to change that sharpish as I love diner food! Have a great time!

Ooh you are indeed the luckiest woman in the world. I am a work widow tonight as Husband has boss and boss' boss in town!

Have a fab scoff.

JJx (PS What's a tea-jennie?)

JJ, a tea-jenny/jennie is someone who drinks a helluva lot of tea! I think it's a Scottish saying.

LOVE chocolate fondant! Was thinking of making the same thing :-)

'Tea jenny' is a Scottish thing. Back in Edinburgh, I used to work with someone who would always crack up when he asked 'Would you like a tea... Jenny?' and, being from England, I didn't know what he found so funny about making a cuppa. Eventually he told me and now it all makes sense. Still a rubbish joke though...

But, for the record, I'm definitely a tea-jenny!

Jen, that's something I'd crack up about too. So definitely a rubbish joke then. ;) My fella's a tea-jenny and I'm getting that way myself!

Lucky you, I am another work widow tonight so will have to make my own supper and it won't be anything like your treat.

Sounds divine, lucky you. I love fish but Joules doens't so I'd never get something as scrummy as that cooked for me.

(I'm glad JJ asked about the tea-jennie because I was wondering...)
