More Laziness

I woke up this morning to sunshine. Could there still be a summer in store for Dublin? I'm almost too frightened to type these words in case of fate tempting.

Yesterday we managed to agree on the paint colour for the bathroom and haul it home with some mirrored shelves. We don't own a car so we were a tad knackered afterwards. Even the thought of sanding the walls was too much, so we just sat around, drank beer and watched tv instead. Hopefully next weekend the paint will actually make it on the walls.

We're off to watch Dublin vs Westmeath later in Croke Park. Watching Gaelic Football is always good fun and the stadium is fantastic - can't wait!

I can empathise with the no car getting DIY stuff knackeredness. To get from B&Q to my flat I have to go up two really steep hills so by the time I've lugged stuff home I don't have the energy to do the DIY. You've done your hard work for this weekend - start painting next weekend!

I used to paint walls until the rabid collie yardsale incident.

All that preparation is exhausting. You really need to pace yourselves and not overdo it.

You probably need to drink some more beer to build your strength up.

At least the paint is bought. That's half the battle!

Calistro, it's a pain! At least we're getting some exercise - and a large excuse for a large glass of wine later!

Jannie, sounds crazy - tell me more.

Maddie, now why didn't I think of that? Must get some beer...

Lane, the fact that we agreed on a colour so quickly is a miracle!

If you'd painted today as well, you may have caused some muscle damage - which would have compromised your writing ability. What a dedicated writer you are ;-)

Fiona, *gasp* It's ONLY the greatest sport EVER. Thanks for your recommendation on your blog by the way, I'm really keen to send my manuscript to a good appraisal service.

KatW, brilliant! Now when someone asks me to wash up/clean the bathroom/do the laundry I will say: "That may compromise my writing ability, so instead I will lie on the sofa and eat copious amounts of bon-bons." Thanks!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Glad your doing well with your writing too. Feels good when you get a good chunk done. I am just getting back into the flow of it all after wasting time doing other stuff, mailnly ebay and Facebook!

Don't mention painting. Our front room STILL isn't finished. Grrrr.

Sarah G, it's my turn to do some timewasting - am procrastinating like mad today. Sigh, I hope I get more done soon...

Karen, we painted our living room two years ago and we need to paint it again because of bloody red wine stains from a party!
