I finished my scarf. W00T!
Yesterday I found out that I'm starting work on Monday, so I decided to be the girl-about-town that my friends think I am (instead of the pj wearing hermit that writers really are) and 'did lunch' at Juice with a copy of Brideshead Revisited. So far I'm really enjoying it. Later I cleared Hickeys out of yarn and bought some crochet books. Needless to say I am completely addicted - Michelle calls crochet and ravelry 'crack' and she's absolutely right.
So the next stage of my writing career starts Monday. Luckily I only live thirty minutes walk away from the office so I'll have plenty of time to write in the evenings. I'm a little nervous that it will backfire and I'll stop writing, but I don't think that will happen. I'm in too deep at this stage.
No plans this weekend, we're just going to relax and potter around. Have a wonderful one wherever you are.

I haven't actually read Brideshead Revisted, but loved the series way back in the 90s or was it the 80s?
I'm sure you'll be find writing once you start work on monday. I'm usually okay though if I've had a particularly tiring day at work I may do less or give it a miss and relax for a bit.
Is that your scarf? Is that the actual one you made?? If so, it is utterly gorgeous! Make me one, please!! I'd pay you for it and everything!!

I've never read Brideshead Revisited either. I am in some sort of cultural and crochet void.
If that is the scarf you made, it is utterly beautiful, a sideline on Etsy perhaps?
I read Brideshead years ago and seem to remember the first half being much better than the second. I still want to see the film but it's been and gone here.

I read Brideshead Revisited years ago... but I'm a complete nitwit when it comes to crocheting. I am GREEN with envy at your gorgeous green scarf.
And the nice thing is, I'd need to buy a new coat if it was that colour, too! So it's a win-win :-)

I'm on a 'yarn diet' at the moment and trying to get through as much of my stash before my trip to NY when I will buy up big, baby! After NY I should have enough to last me through the winter.

That's always my worry when I start looking for work, but I'm at it again, because the writing doesn't solve the finances! ;)
I think I need to pull out my knitting needles again for a bit of yarn therapy. Of course my scarves aren't half as gorgeous as yours!
I saw the recent movie and enjoyed it and the book is now on the toppling TBR pile. I'm interested to hear what you think.
