I had a great long weekend, but today I woke up to discover our landline phone isn't working properly and that I left my mobile phone at the airport bar.
To make matters worse, an apartment block is being built outside and they seem to have reached the jackhammer stage this morning. I've tried playing music, but only hiking it up to full volume blocks out the noise. So to save my ears and my neighbours' nerves I dropped that idea sharpish.
I reached a reluctant and frustrated 1370 words before the screetching drills finally got the better of me, so I'm off out to buy a new phone and some industrial earplugs.

A bit of retail therapy does one no harm!!!!
True, I do love industrial earplug shopping...(and a sneaky peak at the shops on Henry Street!)
Ugh. Perhaps a stop at a coffeeshop would help as well. You could get your caffeine and a new atmosphere to write in. Whenever I hit a big block at home, I head to a coffeeshop. If nothing else, the people watching is worth it.
Henry Street sounds prefrable to earplug shopping!
Angie, a coffeeshop is a great idea, might have to try that.
Beccy, Henry Street on a weekday morning is great shopping!
Hey, you're not a proper writer until you are in a coffee shop with your laptop!
